Hello and thanks for stopping by! My name is Heather Cammack and I am a mommy to four beautifully crazy kiddos and a wife of ten years to a handsome Irish red-headed fella. I am not ashamed to be a Christ follower and He is the energy and inspiration behind everything I do. We call Eastern Washington home and feel blessed to be surrounded by the rolling hills of the Palouse region. We strive to keep life happy and fulfilling while staying simple and focused on the things that really matter.
Why DIY?
When I reached the point of graduation at my University, my adviser asked me what I planned to do after school. He looked at me and laughed when I said I wanted to be a stay at home mom. “You’ll go crazy,” he said in between chuckles…😒
This is where I learned one of the most important lessons college had to offer. Don’t limit yourself to other peoples opinions and experiences. This was MY life, and I wasn’t going to let this negative yucky guy tell me what I could and could not do with it.
Fast forward 10 years and 4 kids later, and I’m still standing here, rockin’ the mom bun and maintaining most of my sanity.
It hasn’t always been easy, and we’ve had our ups and downs. Eventually I found my “thing.” That place you retreat to when you need to de-stress and refocus. Goodness, I wish I could say my thing is running or doing sit-ups!
My “thing” ended up being DIY and home decor. Not just ogling over other people’s designs, but really utilizing my need for a creative outlet to make something unique.
My Happy Simple Living came about when I realized I was knee deep in projects, picky eaters and adventures and I needed an way to give all of our hard work and experiences more purpose. I want to share our journey as we work through lots of DIY’s, healthy kid friendly recipe creations and finding fun ways to grow in life together, in hopes that readers can find inspiration and encouragement.
